I have a Master's
in Counseling from Cal State Fullerton and I hold a License in Marriage and Family Therapy. I am a member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) as well as sit on the Board of Directors for Orange County CAMFT.
I love working with adults and couples by giving them the tools to create the relationship they hope for. I have been married for almost 13 years and recognize marriage is a journey of change. In my own journey, I quickly learned marriage wasn't just a big wedding or a recipe for happiness.
My husband and I both have parents who are still happily married after 40+ years. Even with such strong role models, we came together with our own expectations of marriage, which became a dance of sorts. With concerted efforts, trials and tribulations, we have found our steps and became "dance partners." However, we learned we have to constantly practice our "dance steps" to continue making our marriage work.
No one taught us how to "dance." We had to figure it out ourselves and continually have to return to the basics to deal with life changes that impact us and our relationship. Thank goodness we have the commitment to work through the challenges which continue to face us. I realize many couples want to create a strong relationship, but don't know where to start. There are many self-help books and workshops, but there aren't any affordable courses on how to survive the first few of years of marriage, which tend to be the hardest.
When I began counseling couples, I saw much pain and hopelessness expressed by couples when they realized married life wasn't everything they hoped for on their wedding day. I want to help couples overcome their own struggles and help them determine what married life would look like for them.
